Prof. Dra. Pujiati, M.Soc.Sc, Ph.D. was born in Medan on December 4, 1962. She is a lecturer at the Universitas Sumatra Utara in the field of Culture and Language. She completed her final education at doctoral level at the Anthropology/Sociology Study Program, Faculty of Women's Studies, Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2007. The award she received was the Satyalencana Karya Satya 10 Year Honor Award given by the President of Indonesia in 1999, Second Place USU's Representative Lecturer given by the Rector of USU in 1997, as well as a Certificate of Appreciation from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Washington, D.C.
